Latest Newsletter - 3 March

Time Trials
The next Time Trials will be held Wednesday 9th March. We strongly encourage all swimmers to participate in time trials as points are awarded for end of season presentations from these events.

The final Time Trials for the year will be held on Wednesday 9th March and Tuesday March 22nd.

Parents are asked to attend with any swimmers as we require 16 time keepers to successfully run official time trials – along with the coaching positions of starter, recorder, judge of strokes and turns etc.

A BBQ dinner will also be provided by the club on these nights, so please bring the family along and enjoy these events.

Club Captains
With our club captains all leaving the swim club over the summer, the coaching team have elected new Captains and Vice Captains for the remainder of the season. These swimmers are the next generation in swimming for our club show all the traits we look for in a captain. They train hard, and are supportive of all swimmers. They assist the coaches and show natural leadership within the team.

We are very proud to announce club captains as;
Angus Harrison and Centaine Casserly

Vice Captains are;
Matthew Lowe and Laura O’Sullivan

Port Pirie Open Carnival
Good luck to all the swimmers heading off to the Port Pirie Open Carnival this weekend. We have a strong relationship with Port Pirie as many ex-Roxby families are involved in the swim club there. It is always a great event and we look forward to hearing of the swimmers success in the pool.

White Squad – 5.00pm – 6.00pm

Calling for a Club Vice President & Committee Members
The club would is now recruiting for a new Vice President. This role is now available due to Christine Abbott moving back to Adelaide. We are also seeking interested parents for General Committee Positions. Please contact any committee member or coach for further details on what is involved.

The Roxby Downs Swimming Club Hot Weather Policy requires that in the event of ambient temperatures of more than 38 Degrees Celsius, swim training will be cancelled for all squads.
The correct temperature will be established by a report given on the Elders Website at 3.30pm on any given afternoon.
Coaches will not be attending the pool on these days and parents will need to ensure their children are aware of cancellations to training and other arrangements are made for their children.
If you have any questions or concerns about the Hot Weather Policy please do not hesitate to contact the committee.
