Roxby Downs Carnival
Congratulations to all swimmers who competed at the Roxby Downs Carnival last weekend. We had an amazingly successful day with nearly every swimmer achieving at least 1 Personal Best time (PB).

135 PB’s were swum in total with some swimmers achieving eight PB’s each. Sixteen club age group records and 2 club overall records were broken on the day and over 60 medals were won by Roxby swimmers on the day. All results are available on the club website.

We could not run our carnival without the support of our sponsors and the parents and volunteers who assist us leading up to and on the day. It is always an amazing sight to see how many people show up on the day and just help out with whatever needs doing. For those of you who attended your first ever carnival, I am sure that you were amazed by the amount of work and organisation that goes into putting on a State Qualifying Meet.

A Carnival Debrief Meeting will be held at the pool this Thursday at 5.30pm for anyone who assisted on the day or who has suggestions on how to improve the carnival for next year. Please come along or if you can not make it please send in your thoughts to as we know there is always room for improvement.

Nominations Officer
The committee is sad to say goodbye this month to our only Adult swimmer and Nominations and Records officer Tanya F.

Tanya has been a fantastic mentor and role model for our senior swimmers as well as a hard working committee member and nominations officer. We wish Tanya and Andrew every success in their new adventures.

This now leaves a vacancy on our committee for a Nominations and Records officer. Anyone interested in this role is urged to get contact the committee or talk to Phillipa about what this involves.

Without a Nominations & Records Officer our swimmers can not compete, time trials can not be held and no awards can be given at the end of the year! This is a critical role within our club.

School Holiday Training
Junior Squad training will wrap up this Thursday 3rd December until the first Tuesday school goes back in January. Please ensure that if you are intending to enter any carnivals next year that you keep an eye out for nomination closing dates at the bottom of this newsletter.

Senior Squad training also wraps up this Friday 4th December, however special training sessions will continue for swimmers preparing for the State Sprint Titles and Country Championships being held over the Christmas break.

If you will be training for these or other carnivals scheduled early in the new year please register your interest with Phillipa so that we can contact you with training session details as they are scheduled.
